VISION Stuttgart 2026
Embedded Vision for Demanding Machine Vision Applications
Complex machine vision applications require more than powerful hardware. What matters is the right combination of image acquisition, processing power, software, and application expertise.
For more than 30 years, IMAGO Technologies has been developing Embedded Vision solutions for industrial applications β from compact vision sensors and smart cameras to high-performance vision PCs and AI platforms. Our freely programmable systems give OEMs, machine builders, and integrators the flexibility to implement individual machine vision tasks without the limitations of closed systems.
Our trade show highlights at a glance
AI at the Edge
How much AI computing power does your machine vision application really need?
AI at the edge can take many forms. IMAGO platforms cover different performance levels β from integrated NPUs in compact vision sensors to NVIDIA Jetson Orin-based smart cameras and dedicated GPU computing in industrial vision PCs.
This enables AI inference and image processing to run directly within the vision system, reducing the amount of data that needs to be transferred and enabling fast responses directly at the production process.
Scalable AI Computing
What happens if your machine vision application needs more AI performance tomorrow?
The requirements of industrial machine vision are constantly evolving β and the computing architecture needs to be able to grow with them. With the Vision Box AGE-X6 and Vision AI Xcelerix, additional GPU computing power can be connected externally via high-speed USB4.
This modular approach makes it possible to scale AI computing performance according to the application without redesigning or replacing the entire vision system.
High-Speed Embedded Vision
How can image acquisition and processing keep pace with high-speed production processes?
High-speed machine vision requires more than a fast image sensor. Image acquisition, data transfer, and processing need to work together as an optimized overall system.
Our Embedded Vision platforms combine high-speed sensors with powerful on-device processing β including NVIDIA Jetson Orin-based area-scan and line-scan cameras. This enables demanding machine vision tasks to be performed directly at production speed.
Hybrid Vision: AI Meets Classical Machine Vision
AI or classical machine vision β why choose just one?
Not every inspection task is best solved with AI. While deep learning excels at handling complex variations and anomalies, classical machine vision provides precise and deterministic results for clearly defined features.
IMAGO platforms enable both approaches to be combined within a single vision system. AI-based methods such as anomaly detection can be combined with classical rule-based image processing to create robust industrial inspection solutions.
Open Vision Architecture
What if the vision system adapts to your software β not the other way around?
Industrial machine vision applications vary significantly in their requirements. That is why IMAGO systems are freely programmable rather than closed black-box solutions.
Developers can implement their own algorithms and integrate technologies such as C++, Python, and MVTec HALCON. Standard industrial interfaces also enable seamless integration into machines and automation environments.
The result is an Embedded Vision platform that can be adapted to the individual application β rather than limiting the application to predefined functions.
Machine Vision with Generative AI
Can ChatGPT become an engineering tool for industrial machine vision?
Generative AI opens up new possibilities for developing machine vision applications. At VISION 2026, we demonstrate how ChatGPT can be used to create individual image processing algorithms or adapt existing ones.
Combined with an IMAGO smart camera and ViewIT, developers can integrate Python-based algorithms directly into the machine vision workflow. This creates a new approach to implementing customized machine vision solutions faster and with less software development effort.
