The Vision Sensor PV3 is a fully integrated embedded vision sensor – smaller than a matchbox and yet a complete image processing computer. Equipped with a Quad-Core ARM processor, sensor resolutions up to 5 MP, and an optional HALCON runtime, this machine vision image sensor offers maximum flexibility with minimal space requirements.

The extremely small, programmable Linux camera provides an excellent entry point into machine vision at an attractive price. The Vision Sensor PV3 is predestined for standard vision tasks where compactness, energy efficiency, and easy integration into existing systems are crucial.

Compact design – maximum integration

With dimensions starting from 50 × 50 × 39 mm, the Vision Sensor PV3 as a compact machine vision image sensor fits even into the tightest machine spaces – ideal for confined applications, retrofit projects, or mobile devices.

Powerful image processing directly in the sensor

Quad-Core ARM processor, programmable Linux system, and integrated camera make the PV3 a standalone vision system – without additional industrial PC or frame grabber.

Thanks to the IMAGO software suite ViewIT, even non-programmers can set up their first vision applications within a single working day – via drag & drop, preconfigured modules, and an intuitive interface.

HALCON ready

The sensor is optionally available with an integrated HALCON runtime – ideal for those who work with proven MVTec operators and want to leverage their existing HALCON expertise efficiently.

Two housing variants

Choose between a compact standard design (S-Mount, 2 MP) and cubic version (C-Mount, up to 5 MP), both available with color or monochrome sensors – suitable for any application and lens.

Integrated illumination available

The optional Universal Illumination Module combines spot and diffuse lighting and is fully software-controlled – ensuring optimal illumination even with varying inspection objects for your machine vision image sensor.

Dynamic focus with liquid lens

The optional software-controllable liquid lens allows precise focusing – ideal for changing working distances or flexible production lines with variable component sizes.

IO Expansion Box for more interfaces

The external expansion box extends the available interfaces – without increasing the base unit’s housing size.

GigE Vision for external processing
